Once again I am reminded that I, myself am not the doer. It is not “me” that does anything … not the first thing … not even breathe myself. I am being breathed and acted through; moved by that Mysterious Life Force, called various things – Universal Source, Great Spirit, God. There is no “doer” at all. To think so is simply illusion.
There is only a “me” story about someone named Lynne and her, very limited, repertoire of maneuvers. This Lynne is a totally empty character who operates within an illusion of being in control and who wants to believe that she is clever enough to force Consciousness to come at her bidding.
How can this itty-bitty ego do such a thing?
I read Emmet Fox's commentary on the first verse of Psalm 27 this week. It goes …
“The Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life. Of whom should I be afraid?”
The Lord, Fox points out, is that Christ Consciousness within us… the Lord over our internal realms … of the ego and it is That which brings us light in the form of Understanding and thus saves us from being completely taken over and lost within the confines of ego. This Higher Consciousness provides the strength that prompts and moves us to do Universal Will.
May you be so moved.
Blessings, Lynne
